The Boys Season 4 Episode 8: Season Four Finale

Grace Mallory is accidentally killed by Ryan Butcher when she tries to stop him from leaving a CIA safehouse, using his superhuman strength to push her into a concrete wall, breaking her neck. Victoria Neuman is killed by Billy Butcher using his Compound V-transformed tentacled form, tearing her in half to prevent her from using her head-popping powers, after she asks Hughie for help escaping Homelander.

Homelander achieves total control over Vought and the U.S. government, with Speaker of the House Calhoun becoming a puppet president who declares martial law and deputizes Supes nationwide to report directly to Homelander. President-elect Robert Singer is arrested after Sister Sage leaks video footage from the presidential bunker showing him berating The Boys for not assassinating Neuman as requested, invoking the 25th Amendment and elevating Calhoun to president.

The Boys split up and are captured by Homelander's forces: MM apprehended in an airport bathroom by Love Sausage, Hughie and Annie targeted by Cindy, Frenchie and Kimiko apprehended by Cate and Sam from Gen V. Zoe Neuman is sent to the Red River Institute, the same group home she was part of as a child, becoming an orphan after her mother Victoria Neuman's death at Butcher's hands. In a mid-credits scene, it is revealed that Soldier Boy is alive and being held in cryo-stasis by the CIA, creating an emotional reunion with Homelander who is both thrilled and unsettled by his father's survival.

Sister Sage reveals her masterplan was always intact despite apparent setbacks, having manipulated events from behind the scenes and urging Homelander to 'strap in for Phase Two'. Billy Butcher drives off alone holding the vial of Supe virus, still envisioning Joe Kessler who nods in approval, fully embracing his transformation and setting up the conflict for Season 5.
