The Boys Season 4 Episode 3: We'll Keep the Red Flag Flying Here

Homelander remakes the Seven in public: Sister Sage and Firecracker are formally brought onto the team. Ashley, meanwhile, decides not to resign — a choice made immediately after watching Homelander kill a Vought employee.

Annie gets an answer to Firecracker's hostility: it is tied to their childhood pageant history, where Annie had wronged her.

Butcher, increasingly desperate, works with Kessler on a plan to sedate Ryan using fentanyl-laced cookies — aiming to bring Ryan to their side by chemical means.

Kimiko and Frenchie infiltrate a Shining Light Liberation Army location, and the operation comes apart: a scarred woman escapes in the chaos, and Frenchie's drug-induced state disrupts the mission at the worst moment.

Hughie's family thread deepens when Daphne explains why she left — severe postpartum depression and a suicide attempt.

The episode ends inside Homelander's breakdown: after Ryan leaves their argument, his fractured reflections urge him to overcome his need for love and return to the laboratory where he was created.

After Ryan leaves their argument, Homelander experiences an internal breakdown in which his fractured reflections urge him to overcome his need for love and return to the laboratory where he was created. The episode's final beat is the shattered-mirror exchange and the directive to 'go home.' This ending leaves several threads unresolved: whether Butcher will pursue the Ryan-sedation plan, the Shining Light survivor's connection to Kimiko, and Homelander's impending visit to the lab.
