Thing

Thing is the Addams family's disembodied hand, played by Victor Dorobantu, and he is Wednesday's companion and co-conspirator at Nevermore Academy. He belongs to the Addams Family rather than to the school.

He is used rather than spoken about, and Wednesday uses him constantly. He follows Rowan to the train station when Wednesday wants confirmation rather than answers; she directs him to destroy Crackstone's commemorative statue during Outreach Day and takes the reprimand from Principal Weems herself; he goes with her when she breaks into the coroner's office and follows Xavier to the monster's cave. When he is injured and the diary is stolen, suspicion falls on Dr. Kinbott.

He stays a fixture in Season 2. Wednesday gives him a belated birthday present and finds her mother has taken Goody's spell book, and together they discover obituaries of former Willow Hill patients hidden behind a mirror in Sheriff Galpin's cabin. He joins Uncle Fester in turning Wednesday's investigation into a full Addams family affair.

Thing is the Addams family's living severed hand - a gentleman, a accomplice and a weapon of pure dexterity, dispatched to Nevermore Academy as Wednesday Addams's minder and instantly recruited as her only co-conspirator.

Mute but never silent, Thing taps out warnings, picks the locks Wednesday is not supposed to open, and delivers the show's most articulate silences. In the hunt for the monster terrorizing Jericho, he is Wednesday's hands - literally - and her proof that family is the one thing even she cannot freeze out.
