Wednesday Season 2 Episode 2: The Devil You Woe

Nevermore celebrates its annual Prank Day, and chaos reigns on campus. Amid the festivities, Wednesday confronts an old enemy and gains an ally she did not want. Wednesday also loses her visionary abilities upon finding Sheriff Galpin's corpse with pecked-out eyes, and she becomes a suspect in his death. Meanwhile, Morticia confiscates Goody's spell book, Wednesday's only means of restoring her psychic powers.

During the day, Wednesday's stalker leaves genuine threats and she finds a fake-murdered Enid. The stalker, Agnes DeMille, kidnaps Enid and Bruno and sets Wednesday a puzzle; Wednesday decodes it, rescues them, and Agnes offers to help the investigation. Elsewhere, Slurp kills Enid's driving instructor, revealing his parasitic nature to Pugsley.

At the end of "The Devil You Woe," Wednesday discovers Sheriff Galpin dead with his eyes pecked out by crows, and when she tries to use her powers, they no longer work. Enid and her boyfriend Bruno are kidnapped and chained at the top of Iago Tower beneath suspended blades; Wednesday solves the puzzle and rescues them before the blades fall. The stalker reveals herself as Agnes DeMille, a 13-year-old outcast student with invisibility powers and a self-described superfan, who says she staged the game to get Wednesday's attention and stole Galpin's phone, stating she did not kill him. Wednesday returns to her dorm to give Thing a belated birthday present and finds Morticia has taken Goody's spell book.

These events mean Galpin is dead, Wednesday's powers are currently not functioning, Enid and Bruno survived their kidnapping, and the stalker is unmasked as Agnes DeMille. The episode's final scene shows the reanimated zombie "Slurp" killing Enid's driving instructor by eating his brain.

Several questions remain open: who actually killed Sheriff Galpin (the bird-controlling "Avian" killer), whether Wednesday will regain her psychic powers, and what Slurp is and how far the threat will spread.
