Ransom Canyon Season 2 Episode 8: Love Is A Canyon

The season 2 finale opens with Ellie rushed through the hospital after Sidney pushed her off the porch, with police pursuing Sidney. Yancy arrives to find Dan, who fills him in; a doctor explains that the trauma caused a placental abruption and that the baby is not getting enough oxygen, so Ellie goes into labour. Quinn joins Yancy in the waiting room, and the doctor finally brings good news: Yancy meets his daughter, Isabella.

At the station, Kit walks past Dan to bail out Lucas, who has been arrested. Dan gives Kit a card for a ranch in Wyoming and tells him to leave town and start over. Quinn meets Staten at the hospital when she returns with clothes from Ellie's house, but when she tries to reopen things he shuts her down and insists they keep things as they are. Ellie and Quinn celebrate the festival's success and immediately begin planning next year's event.

Lucas admits to Lauren that he slept with Ashley, and she drives away without a word. Staten and Sam both feel guilty about what happened to Ellie; Staten admits he wants to bury the hatchet, and Sam, in tears, waves the white flag, tells his son he loves him and reveals he is stepping down at the Double K. Mary Lou returns to town and asks Lauren to create an album cover; Quinn presents the Lone Star theater as a permanent home for the No Place Like Home festival, and Mary Lou agrees to be her financial partner.

Yancy receives a "we need to talk" text from an unknown number. Quinn's mother admits her regret over what she asked of her daughter, and Quinn explains she is putting the festival money back into the town and that a buyer for the farm will cover Claire's new house in Encinitas. Driving to a sketchy location, Yancy is met not by Sidney but by Freddie, who reveals that the land he inherited actually contains oil. Kit and Lauren share a drink, but Kit refuses a real relationship to avoid holding her back and gives her a parting kiss.

Claire knocks on Staten's door, admits her mistake and tearfully urges him not to give up on true love with Quinn, then says goodbye to her daughters and kisses Andrews on her way to the airport. Quinn opens her mother's gift: a box containing Staten's letter, asking her to meet him at the cabin. She goes, and they kiss and wake up together the next morning. Lauren chooses Kit, kissing him until he misses his bus, while Dan tells her to let him go. Ellie, feeling unsafe with Sidney still out there, asks Yancy to leave.

Staten gives Quinn a key to the Double K and they agree to start forever right now; the village, and the vote, are left to the future.
