Ransom Canyon Season 1 Episode 10: Maybe It's Time Yancy Grey Dies Too

The season 1 finale opens with Lauren in a sling, her cheerleading career over, blaming Lucas for distracting her at the pep rally. She has also reconciled herself to the truth that her mother Margaret caused Randall's crash, and tells her father they cannot let Kit keep sitting in jail for a crime he did not commit. Sheriff Dan goes to Austin with backup and arrests Margaret, then mourns with his daughter while a freed Kit joyfully reunites with Lucas.

Quinn receives a concerning letter from Austin Water & Power's lawyers threatening legal action unless she repays the $80,000 investment they gave her; Staten offers to lend her the money, but she refuses. She finally breaks up with Davis, who handles it well, telling her he always knew her heart lay with Staten. Later, Quinn tells Ellie she will go to New York and take the Philharmonic gig to keep Gracie's open, and asks Ellie to become her business partner.

At the celebration dance, Davis says harsh words about Staten's late wife, and Staten punches him — exactly the physical altercation Davis and Sam want to use as proof that Staten is unfit to be trustee of the Double K. Quinn is furious that he got violent in her bar, and Staten exits, leaving behind the straw bracelet she gave him.

Yancy prepares a memorial for Cap at the Fuller ranch and plans to sell it to Austin Water & Power as his grandfather wanted, giving the money to Ellie and Ruth. At the memorial, Staten tells Yancy that Cap spent years looking for him and his mother. Yancy changes his mind and tells Ellie he will not sell — he will run the ranch like Cap did. He then proposes to her with Ruth's engagement ring, having the chapel, priest and suit ready.

At the dance hall, Ellie tells a jealous Kai she is going to marry Yancy. White gown in hand, she is about to leave for the chapel when a woman stops her, looking for Yancy. Ellie asks who she is: only Yancy's wife.
