At the scene Mickey freezes when she sees the victim's face, then tells Sergeant Kevin Ahearn she believes the woman was murdered rather than dying of an overdose. Ahearn dismisses the theory and blames a bad drug batch, refusing to order autopsies.
The medical examiner later tells Mickey the first victim did not die of a natural overdose but was killed by an insulin overdose. Mickey also learns a second and third woman have died and only one has been identified.
Separately, Mickey searches for her missing sister Kacey, who struggles with addiction. A flashback shows Mickey and Truman finding Kacey holding a one-year birthday card, rocking in a fetal position. In the present, Mickey recalls arresting Kacey and begging Truman to let her go, then confessing that Kacey is her sister.
Mrs. Mahon, Mickey's neighbor, tells her the man who recently visited was driving a red pickup truck, not a Mustang. Mickey reviews store footage from October 6 and sees Kacey getting into a red pickup truck. She rushes to Truman's house for help as the episode ends.
