"The Disciple" is the midseason premiere and the resolution of the Gina Picket white whale case. Picking up directly from Keaton's call, Colter rejoins the retired cop, who has Alex Silva tied up in his basement. Silva names "the Teacher" — the man who directed Frank Whales to lure Gina Picket to "the Farm" — and confirms Frank was one of several "pretty boys" the Teacher used as disciples to abduct women on his behalf.

Colter and Keaton revisit Frank Whales, and Colter theorizes that Gina was not taken from the mall parking lot but left willingly with Frank, who baited her with a fake secret concert. Frank breaks under pressure and leads them to Patrick Campbell's nursing home; Campbell's son Noah Darview (Nicholas Lea), an anesthesiologist who traveled between states, is unmasked as "the Teacher." At the barn on the Darview property — "the Farm" — Colter finds the remains of another victim. In the confrontation, Frank turns on the Teacher but is stabbed; Colter shoots and captures Darview. Darview confesses to killing Gina Picket and reveals the locations of his other victims' remains. Camille holds a funeral for Gina and leaves town; Frank dies of his wounds.
