Sameer Shah

Sameer Shah is the scientist at the centre of The Boys' supe-killing virus storyline - the man whose work decides whether supes can be killed at all, and at what cost to everyone else. Introduced in Season 4 as the target of Butcher's hunt, he survives the farm attack only to be secretly imprisoned by Butcher and Kessler, forced to develop more of the anti-supe virus. His scientific judgment supplies the story's darkest warning: a virus powerful enough to kill Homelander would become airborne and kill every supe on Earth. The cost becomes personal when Sameer stabs Kimiko and flees, and Frenchie cuts off Kimiko's leg to extract the virus from him. By Season 5 the arrangement has inverted: Butcher runs a laboratory with Dr. Sameer Shah on the strength of a lie about Victoria Neuman's death, committing the team to testing the virus on a living target. Sameer's escape comes through family - Zoe Neuman, reunited with her father, chooses him over the war and helps him destroy every virus sample The Boys hold, the two escaping together and erasing the team's only weapon. His warnings are the story's conscience: every shortcut Butcher takes with the virus is measured against Sameer's airborne extinction math, and every stage of the lab runs on coercion rather than consent.
