Character Biography
Biography
Principal Larissa Weems runs Nevermore Academy, and her interest in Wednesday is administrative before it is personal. She is portrayed by Gwendoline Christie.
She watches rather than trusting. She disguises herself to shadow Wednesday during the Poe Cup, and when Wednesday has Thing destroy Crackstone's commemorative statue during Outreach Day, Weems is the one who reprimands her and attaches consequences to the action. Her own authority has a cost she admits to: after Rowan's death she confesses that she covered the killing up to protect the school's reputation.
She also decides what Nevermore will tolerate, and Wednesday repeatedly pushes her to the edge of it. Once Wednesday has summoned Goody and witnessed Mayor Walker's death, Weems lets her stay and keep investigating. When Wednesday captures and tortures Tyler, it is Weems who expels her — and then works with her to trick Marilyn Thornhill anyway. In Season 2 she returns in a different capacity: Wednesday meets her after Tyler's attack as her new spirit guide, and Weems tells her plainly that her abused powers will not come back until she faces herself honestly.
