Fatima

Fatima is a Colony House resident and Ellis Stevens' partner. She is portrayed by Pegah Ghafoori and is described as warm, loyal, and fearless in small ways.

She is the first person at Colony House to take to Julie after the family arrives, and she does it deliberately — the point is that the teenager should feel safe. She represents the argument that life in this place can still hold joy: she shows Julie that connection and romance persist, she pushes Ellis to mend things with his father before the town makes that impossible, and Colony House marks one year of her arrival with a party rather than a vigil.

Her pregnancy is the line the show draws through her. She tells Donna she is pregnant despite having believed she could not be, and what begins as hope becomes the question Season 3 keeps pressing: whether anything new can survive here. Her health deteriorates, no heartbeat can be found, and what she delivers at the end of the season is not a child. She is not simply a victim of it afterward — she has a connection to what she delivered, and she uses it.

Fatima is Colony House's warmest presence: a woman who decided early that the town would not take her capacity for joy, and who builds a chosen family out of the people around her.

Her life with Ellis gives the townspeople something the place never intended them to have - a future worth arguing about - and the town's hostility to that hope becomes one of the show's most personal horrors.
