Fire Country Season 2 Episode 3: See You Next Apocalypse

A wildfire climbs the mountain, and Vince, as chief, orders everyone to set personal matters aside. The crews need a drone to assess the fire, and the operator is Liam - Sharon's colleague from her volunteer stint - which disturbs both Bode and Vince. Liam assures them he is not pursuing Sharon and that the drone will keep Vince's wife safe. A family refuses to leave their property; one man is injured, and his sister calls for help. Gabriela treats the man's eye to prevent orbital compartment syndrome and eventual blindness, and discovers internal bleeding that forces an evacuation.

As the family flees, their vehicles are on fire; the firefighters pile into a fire jeep with Gabriela and Jake on the roof and Sharon driving through smoke. Vince talks Sharon through the descent. Bode breaks a water main to spring water that holds back the fire, and everyone is saved.

At Three Rock, Eve - now captain - is not respected by the inmates. When an inmate falls and injures his leg cutting lines, she and Manny work together; Manny advises her to earn trust by being both guide and buddy to the prisoners. They mend their relationship.

Sharon and Vince meet Liam at a bar; Liam claims Sharon opened her heart to him while volunteering, enraging Vince, and the two fight and are jailed. After bail, Sharon confesses she felt lonely and leaned on Liam but insists there was no romance. She visits Liam before he leaves and tells him she loves Vince. Meanwhile Gabriela tells Bode she is marrying someone else; Bode says the only girl he thinks about is his daughter, but Gabriela - unaware he is a father - misinterprets this as another woman and leaves in tears.

The fire and the family's evacuation are resolved: Gabriela saves the man's sight, Bode's water main holds back the flames, and everyone reaches safety. Manny and Eve reconcile, and Sharon tells Liam she loves Vince and says goodbye.

What the episode leaves open is Gabriela's misunderstanding: she tells Bode she is marrying someone else and, not knowing he has a daughter, reads his reply about "his girl" as proof he has moved on, leaving in tears. Whether she learns the truth, and what it means for her wedding, is left for later episodes.
