Fire Country Season 2 Episode 6 Recap
A month after Cara's death, Jake has not healed and is neglecting Genevieve, who lives with the Leones as their custodial guardians - a status that holds regardless of any DNA test. Sharon and Vince enjoy having a child in the house.
A drug dealer throws cash from a helicopter during a run from the sheriff's department; the money falls onto a spent fire and Three Rock collects it, then returns it to Sharon, who gives it to the sheriff's department. Mickey Fox, Sharon's stepsister, works there - and it emerges she arrested Bode the first time. Sharon never forgave her and avoided returning her calls.
Rudy, a Three Rock inmate, escapes. He is dying of cancer and only wanted to see his son before he dies. Mickey and Sharon ride together; Mickey confesses her own daughter Sky is in rehab, which is why she called Sharon a month earlier. The two mend slightly. Then they find Sheriff Watkins and Lt. Kubiak shot by the road - Kubiak claims Rudy took the sheriff's gun and shot them.
Bode realizes Kubiak knew the cash amount before it was tallied, deducing Kubiak killed the sheriff (who intended to call Internal Affairs) because Kubiak was on the dealer's payroll. Kubiak checks out of the hospital, confronts Bode at the spot where Rudy once said he'd hide, and prepares to kill both men. Bode calls Sharon on a secret phone, starts a fire as a distraction, and Mickey arrives to arrest Kubiak after Bode gets his confession. Bode persuades Rudy to return.
Finally, Mickey tells the Leones that Genevieve is not Bode's biological daughter - but they are still her family and will keep her.
