Stan Edgar

Stan Edgar is the corporate hand behind Vought International's political ambitions and the adoptive father of Victoria Neuman. He operates in boardrooms and private rooms rather than in public, and his power comes from files, leverage and the ability to place people where he needs them.

The Red River records expose the method. When Hughie gets inside the institute and copies its files, the documents show that Victoria Neuman was known there as Nadia and that Stan Edgar took her from the facility, which is the origin of a relationship that later functions as both family and instrument. Edgar's fall begins with the person he raised: at a press conference Neuman abandons him and accuses him of blackmail and obstruction of justice, converting his protection into her own political capital.

What follows is a survival problem rather than a redemption. Neuman later pulls him out of the convoy, an act that separates him from Vought and from Homelander's plan at the same time and leaves him dependent on the people he spent his career manipulating. In the fifth season he is guiding The Boys toward a base that may hold the V1 compound, and the bargain struck around it shows how little distance Edgar keeps between strategy and cost: Butcher persuades Ryan to use the virus against Homelander even though it would kill Ryan.

Stan Edgar is a recurring character in The Boys. Portrayed by Giancarlo Esposito, the character appears in 6 episodes across 3 seasons. First seen in S3E2, “The Only Man in the Sky”, and last seen in S5E8, “Blood and Bone”.
