FBI: Most Wanted Season 5 Episode 1: Above & Beyond

FBI: Most Wanted's fifth season opens with a deal gone wrong. The meeting leaves multiple people dead, and the Fugitive Task Force heads to Virginia to put the pieces together (F01, F02).

The team does so with a new addition: Special Agent Nina Chase, played by new series regular Shantel VanSanten (F03). The premiere also spends time on her arrival itself - per TV Acute, she transfers from the New York field office as a replacement for Kristin Gaines, and the hour shows her first case back from maternity leave, balanced against her home life with her partner Scola and their son (F04, F05).

As the team digs into the bodies left by the deal, TV Acute's recap describes the case widening into an anti-tax conspiracy: the 861s, a group that believes federal income taxes are illegal, has breached NASA satellites and plans to destroy the NASA building with a bomb (F06, F07). The team stops the plot and captures those responsible (F08).

Woven through the case is Remy's personal thread: he continues to grapple with the aftermath of connecting with his long-lost nephew, and by the end of the hour he has re-established contact, closing the personal thread the premiere opened (F09, F10).

The case of the week closes with the task force stopping the 861s' bomb plot and capturing those responsible, per TV Acute's recap (F08).

On the personal side, Remy re-establishes contact with his long-lost nephew, resolving the reconnection thread the premiere opened; the show leaves the relationship's future to later episodes. Nina's arrival is established but her integration into the team continues beyond this hour.
