Character Biography

Biography

Mitch Keller is Tulsa King's native anchor - the Oklahoma man who meets Dwight Manfredi on day one and gives the exile his first real foothold in the city. Portrayed by Garrett Hedlund, Mitch is a ranch owner when the series opens, and his willingness to deal with the newly arrived capo in "Go West, Old Man" sets the partnership that much of the show's Tulsa economy is built on.

What makes Mitch more than a local fixer is how un-criminal he stays. He is main cast across 29 episodes and three seasons, and the show consistently uses him as the measure of Dwight's adaptation: the legit-facing half of the operation, the one whose businesses and relationships exist in daylight. His ease with horses, land and Oklahoma social codes is the complement to Dwight's New York instincts, and their scenes together trace a friendship that survives every escalation the mob life brings to their door.

The corpus tracks him from the pilot through the Season 3 finale, through the crew's wars with local rivals and federal pressure. Mitch's through-line is steadiness - the guy who was there before the money and stays after the shootings, proof that Tulsa King is as interested in the men who host the empire as in the empire itself.
