Finn enters Fire Country in Season 3's Death Trap as a neighbor with a seemingly ordinary problem: he contacts the fire station about his shut-in neighbor, Estelle. When Bode and Audrey find Estelle unconscious in her home, she knocks over an iron and starts a fire, and she is angry at Bode for destroying her belongings. In the same stretch Finn goes on a tailgating date with Audrey - telling her about items he keeps in a locker at work - and asks Gabriela out at Smokey's, planting the first sign of his fixation on Gabriela.

The obsession sharpens over the next episodes. Finn asks Gabriela out at Smokey's again in One Last Time, positioning himself in her social world. At the ski-resort chair-lift collapse in Fire and Ice, Finn is present on the mountain taking photographs and is the one who spots smoke from a fire at the top of the lift and alerts Sharon - a moment that shows him inserted into the crew's emergencies rather than merely observing them from afar. Sharon orders the crew off the mountain and plans a water drop, while Jake disobeys and puts the fire out with snow cannons, so Finn's alert is what sets the rescue in motion even as he remains outside it.

Finn's true nature comes out in Eyes and Ears Everywhere. Station 42 responds to a small house fire where Jake and Eve find Finn with a hurt back, and Gabriela rides with him in the ambulance. But when Audrey stays at Finn's house chasing remnant smoke, she and Jake find flames inside the walls that lead them to the basement - where dozens of photographs of Gabriela are stored. Finn threatens Gabriela with a scalpel and escapes, confirming that his injuries were a ploy to draw her close. The discovery of the photographs - dozens of them, stored in the basement - turns a worried boyfriend into a confirmed stalker and explains why he kept engineering emergencies that put Gabriela in his orbit.

The stalking turns violent in A Change in the Wind. Manny spots Finn watching the firehouse from a new car; Bode follows him to a gas station, where Finn speeds off with a fuel tank, runs over an attendant, and knocks over the station sign so leaking gasoline starts a fire with a teenage girl, Inez, trapped inside. Manny pulls a cage of propane tanks clear with Inez's Jeep as it explodes, and Finn is shot, left alive in the back of Manny's truck. In the series finale, I'd Do It Again, Finn regains consciousness and claims that Audrey - not Gabriela - shot him; Audrey turns herself in. The stalking thread closes with Finn alive and Audrey surrendering, leaving his ultimate fate unresolved.

Finn is the stalker who torments Gabriela Diaz across Fire Country Season 3.
