Character Biography
Biography
Dwight 'The General' Manfredi walks out of prison after twenty-five years served for a crime he committed to protect his boss, Pete 'The Rock' Invernizzi, and finds that the family he protected has nothing left to offer him in New York. He is portrayed by Sylvester Stallone and is exiled to Tulsa to start from scratch.
He starts immediately. He recruits Tyson as his first local associate and takes over Bodhi's Higher Plane shop on a twenty-percent profit deal agreed at gunpoint, then puts the supply-chain business on the road. His method is visible in what he does with an attacker: the man behind the drive-by is unmasked as Armand, and Dwight does not kill him, he converts him into weekly protection payments. He pilots the operation at the Tulsa Arena to see whether the model scales, and he plans a casino with Jimmy.
The cost of that approach is people, and it compounds. He personally kills Waltrip to avenge Stacy's shooting, and Stacy turns the money he gave her into bribery evidence. He beats the ATF case and walks free, pursues legitimate-looking investments like the wind farm with Bodhi, and takes over the weed business after Thresher is forced out — but his resolve hardens after Jimmy is murdered, and by Season 3 both the FBI and New York are watching while his crew fights an open street war in Tulsa.
